1963 General Motors Diesel Division (Canada) model SDM-4502

Purchased by Beaver Bus Lines in 1963, this commuter coach operated in service between Winnipeg and Selkirk until 2008.

Bus #33 was donated to the MTHA for preservation.

Historical Note: General Motors establish a Division in 1938 to service customers needing diesel power. After the purchase of Yellow Coach in 1943, the company formed General Motors Truck and Coach Division. General Motors had build intercity Highway coaches, transit buses and Rapid Transit Series (RTS) buses until 1987.

In Canada, buses were manufactured initially in London, Ontario and moved in 1979 to Saint-Eustache, Quebec where both the GM "New Look" and GM "Classic" models were built.

In 1987 the factory was sold to Greyhound Dial Corporation with the Classic model being manufactured and sold initially under the Greyhound banner and finally the Motor Coach Industries brand. The company was then sold in 1993 to new entity called Nova Bus Corporation.
