1946 Ford Transit model 69B

Bus #565 was purchased by the Winnipeg Electric Company in 1946 along with 4 other sections.

The unit operated on city bus routes until 1955 when it was sold to J. Goldberg.

The bus was recovered at a trailer vacation site in northwest Ontario in 1990 and was restored by MTHA volunteers in 1992.

Historical Note: The Ford Transit was a small medium-duty transit bus built by Ford Motor Company between 1936 and 1947. A rear-engine model replace the original front-engine design in 1939.

The chassis was assembled by Ford with bodies built by the Union City Body Company in Indiana, and Canadian built chassis fabricated in Windsor with the bus bodies produced by Brantford Coach & Body, from 1941 to 1943.
